Setting up product packages

Product packages are a great way to offer multiple products for one price as they are a selection of products grouped into one price offering. This gives the best value to your customers and helps you achieve high average selling prices. If you can show customers the value of ordering a product package, it can really increase your average order value.

In your GotPhoto account, you will find four recommend packages to get you started. You can find these by clicking on 'Settings' and then selecting 'Product Packages' under the heading 'Sale'. We recommend using our suggested packages when you are starting with high volume photography. However, this article will explain how to create your own packages. 

Step 1: Create product package


To get started select the BLUE 'Create product package' button. Next, you will add the product package settings (see screenshot below). 

First add the name of the package, for example 'Classic Pack'. You can also add a brief description such as 'Our best value pack', which will appear in the shop to your potential customers. 

Next, add a product pack image similarly to how you uploaded your own logo when setting up your GotPhoto account. 

Finally, ensure the category selected in the dropdown is 'product packages' and then hit the blue 'Next' button at the bottom of the page. 


Step 2: Start adding products

To start adding products to your package click on the blue 'Add products' button. This will open a new window with a selection of product categories to choose from. For example, these include 'Prints', 'Posters', 'Fine Art', etc. 

Simply select your desired category and add the products you wish to the pack. Once you have completed your selection, click the blue button 'Back to product package'. 


Finally, in this new window (screenshot below) decide the quantity of each product you want to sell as part of the package. Having multiple copies can be a great selling technique, as customers can give the extra photo to a friend or family member.

Key Tip: You can see how much each product will cost to produce using one of our partner labs when you are building the pack. You can also see the total cost of the pack by looking at Production costs. 

Once you have selected the quantity of products you want in the pack, please note that it automatically saves. 

Key Tip: You can assign pack products exclusively to individual or group photos. For example, you could only assign the downloads to individuals and not groups. To do this, when editing your product package, there is a drop-down menu with the options, “For All”, “Only individual photos”, and “Only group photos”.

That concludes building your first package. We recommend offering four varying packages with a financial and visual logic. For example, the most expensive package will offer the greatest quantity of products and the cheapest package will not include anything that is not in the most expensive package.
