Upselling: Tiered Coupons

Coupons can be created from the photo job settings page under step 3) Important Events. Photo jobs that use coupons earn more revenue compared to jobs that don't for a few reasons:

  • Setting a coupon creates a counter on your shop counting down to the coupon deadline. This creates a sense of scarcity and drives customers to buy.
  • Coupons are clearly promoted on individual QR cards. After the shoot, the cards are handed out to parents. An attractive coupon will drive customers to your shop and help your overall login rates.
  • Our marketing automation tool (Step 4) communication profile) sends emails to your customers based on certain triggers, such as the coupon deadline. For example, if your coupon expires in a few days, your customers will be notified driving them to your shop.

As a photographer, you want to create a coupon that's attractive to your customers but you also want your coupon to be affordable. Luckily, you have a few settings to control how you can set this up.

Coupon deadline

  • 2 weeks from the day you start selling

Coupon discount type (Monetary Value, Percent)

  • Use Monetary Value as opposed to percentages as you can control the precise amounts to discount.

Tier 1

  • Discount amount
    • $5
  • Minimum order value
    • This value should be in between your least expensive pack and your second least expensive pack.
      • For example, if you're least expensive pack is $30, and your second least expensive pack is $40, then you would set the minimum order value to $35.

Tier 2

  • Discount amount
    • $10
  • Minimum order value
    • This value should be in between your most expensive pack and your second most expensive pack.
      • For example, if you're most expensive pack is $100 and your second most expensive pack is $90, then you would set the minimum order value to $95.

Calculation Example

Smallest pack: 29$
Cheapest individual item: 5$

Level 1 – as of 30$
Monetary discount: 3$
Basket calculation: 29$ + 5$ - 3$ = 31$ minimum basket with discount

Percentage discount: 5%
Basket calculation: 29$ + 5$ - 5% = 32.30$ minimum basket with discount

Level 2 – as of 50$
Monetary discount: 5$
Basket calculation: 50$ - 5$ = 45$ minimum basket with discount

Percentage discount: 10%
Basket calculation: 50$ - 10% = 45$ minimum basket with discount
